Listed Below is all the Youth Super Sports activates the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA has to offer in fall, winter, spring, and summer.  Some activities may not be available depending on the time of year.  Please consult of Program Guide or Contact Us for assistance.


 

 

Football

 

Youth Flag Football League

Make athletic participation a rewarding experience.  Everyone plays and everyone is a winner.  Each participant will learn and develop football skills as well as such values as leadership, sportsmanship, team play and respect for teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials.  A mouth guard is mandatory.

Punt, Pass & Kick Contest

The Punt, Pass & Kick Contest is a football competition that allows young athletes to test their talents in punting, passing, and place kicking against kids their own age.  Scores are based on distance and accuracy.  All participants must show proof of age by providing a birth certificate or religious document.  This FREE competition is held at the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA and is open to boys and girls ages 8-15.

Basketball

 

Biddy Basketball

Youth Basketball Skills & Drills

Instructional program for young players.  Kindergarten through second (ages 5-8).  Fundamental rule comprehension in a positive environment and skill development are the goals of our Biddy Program.  Only the final game will feature a competition.

This program is for 2 - 6 graders.  The academy will focus on skill development through stations, games, and fun activities.  A Saturday morning practice will enforce fun, fair play and a evening will be game time with a pick-up style format.  Volunteers needed to instruct Saturday mornings and officiate evenings.

Biddy Basketball League

Youth Basketball Games

A four game addition to the Biddy Basketball program.  Class is limited to 30 children.  We recommend that the older children and those with a good understanding of the game of basketball sign up for the Biddy Basketball League.

Player must be enrolled in at least one session of Your Basketball Skills & Drills.  This is the fourth session and just involves games.

Biddy Soccer

Instructional program for young players (ages 5 - 8).  Fundamental rule comprehension and skill development in a positive environment is the goal of our biddy program.  Only the final game will feature a game competition.  Classes will be held outside, weather permitting.

Indoor Youth Soccer Skills & Drills

This program is for K - 6 grades.  The academy will focus on skill development through stations, games, and fun activities.  A morning practice will enforce fun, fair play and a positive learning experience.  Evenings will be game time with a pick-up style format.

Indoor Youth soccer games

Player must have been enrolled in one of the Indoor Your Soccer Skills & Drills session to participate in this activity.  This session is just games.

T-Ball

 

Biddy T-Ball

T-Ball League

Instructional program for young players (age 5-8).  Fundamental rule comprehension and skill development in a positive environment is the goal of our Biddy Program.  This program will be played with a wifleball bat and tennis ball in the gym unless weather permits us to be outside.  Only the last class will feature a game competition.  Fee includes T-shirt & Team Photo.

Boys and Girls who are either too young or not ready for the summer leagues, this league is for you!  The All-Star League is designed for players 6 - 8.  These players will be pitched to.  The cactus league is for ages 4 - 6.  These players will hit off a tee.  This league is designed to emphasize instruction, enjoyment, and good sportsmanship.  Coaches will use game conditions to introduce these players to the game of baseball.  Fee includes T-shirt & Team Photo

Track & Field / Other

 

Pee Wee Track and Field

Explore many areas of track & field in a non-competitive, introduction to track and field events for 1st - 6th graders.  Proper training is stressed, including warm-up, cool-down, and stretching.  Each session builds on individual skills developed in the previous session.  Enroll at anytime.

Biddy Gym Fun

One hour of fast moving activities for ages 5 - 8.  Each week in the YMCA gym Group games and entertaining workouts keep boys and girls coming back for more.

Gymnastics

 

Tiny Tot Gymnastics

This introduction to gymnastics for 2 & 3 year olds is based on a Parent/Child team.  The parent will assist the child as they become familiar with games, movement skills, and body space awareness while performing tumbling skills and working on the gymnastic equipment.

Tiny Tot Gymnastics  (Semi-Private & Private Lessons)

By appointment, private and semi-private sessions may be paid for on the date of the class or by the month.  Private classes ensure one-on-one attention with a coach.  Semi-private classes consist of two or three children per coach.  Your child may choose with whom they want to attend a semi-private class with.

 

Kinder Gymnastics

Educational gymnastics for 4 to 6 year olds.  An introduction to various equipment in gymnastics.  We will work on the body control, tumbling, and gymnastic skills.  Plan on having an hour of fun-filled activities related to gymnastics.

Progressive Gymnastic

The YMCA Gymnastics program provides each student the opportunity to develop strength, flexibility, coordination, and grace.  Certified instructors are there as coaches to help each student achieve his or her highest potential in a quality and safe environment.  There will be no more than six children to a coach, guaranteeing sufficient attention.  This program is designed for those children looking for fun and fitness as well as for those motivated to become a competitive gymnast.

Competitive Gymnastics Team - Aerial's

Ultimate progression of instructional gymnastics program.  Team members are selected through a try-out process, with a maximum limit of 20.  Must be a member of the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA.
