REGISTRATION:
The first 600 registrants will be guaranteed a t-shirt. We cannot guarantee t-shirts the week of the race. Online registration closes at noon on July 3rd.
Note: NO Race Reimbursements
We will have disposable bib tag timing this year for all races. Please do not fold or crumple your number as you will not receive a finishing time!
We will have a different color bib for each race. If you need to switch races, please call the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA at 695-4467 by July 3rd to ensure you receive the correct colored bib number. NO RACE DAY RACE CHANGES!
For safety reasons, no headsets of any kind or pets are permitted.
COURSE INFORMATION:
15K Certified Race:
- All 15K runners must average 13:00 mins/mile. If you fall below this pace, you may be asked to drop out and ride back in a sag wagon. This ensures safe traffic control and allows the roads to be opened to traffic in a timely manner.
- 15K and 5K runners will start at 8am. You will go in the same direction until you reach 17th Street. 15K runners please stay to the far Right on 7th Ave as you will be going STRAIGHT when the 5k Runners make their left turn onto 17th Street.
- For your safety, please follow all cones, road marshals and police at all times. Water stations will be at approximately 3, 4 ½, 6, 7 ½, 8 and 8 ½ miles.
- All miles will be marked.
- PLEASE familiarize yourself with the course and train for this distance as it is a challenging course and typically hot on race day.
- Make sure you make the correct turn towards the finish of the race. When you are on the 10th Avenue Expressway, make the RIGHT turn onto 15th Street marked 15K and the next RIGHT onto 11th Ave.
- You must wear your race number to show that you are a race participant. We will have colored bibs to show what race you will be participating in. We will be looking at bib colors to make sure no one jumps in the race!
5K Certified Race:
- 5K runners will start with the 15K runners at 8am. Once on 7th Ave, please stay to the far left as you will be making the LEFT turn onto 17th Street.
- Water Stations will be in front of the Altoona High School (around 1 ½ miles) and on 7th Street near Roberts Gas Station.
- Once you are on 10th Avenue Expressway, make sure you follow the 5K signs and turn RIGHT on 16th Street.
- You must wear your race number to show that you are a race participant. We will have colored bibs to show what race you will be participating in. We will be looking at bib colors to make sure no one jumps in the race!
2 Mile Walk:
- Walkers will line up behind the runners and will start after the runners. YOU MUST WALK AS NO RUNNING IS ALLOWED.
- Once you start, you will make an immediate RIGHT turn on 12th Street, DO NOT FOLLOW THE RUNNERS. When you walk past the Finish Line, PLEASE USE SIDEWALK.
- You must use the sidewalk once you come to the 17th Street Bridge. You will do ONE loop around the Station Medical Mall and back over 17th Street Bridge.
- PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF THE RUNNERS SPRINTING TO THE FINISH LINE AND STAY TO THE FAR RIGHT OF THE ROAD WHEN COMING INTO THE FINISH.
- You must wear your race number to show that you are a race participant.
RACE PACKET PICK-UP:
Packet pickup will be at the YMCA on Tuesday, July 2 and Wednesday, July 3 from 5am to 9pm. Race packets will also be available day of at the Heritage Plaza located at 11th Avenue and 14th Street in downtown Altoona from 6:30-7:40am. PLEASE COME EARLY!
RACE PARKING:
Parking will be open in the lot across from Mishler Theatre and bus/train station in Downtown Altoona.

Please join us on Saturday, July 6th at Legion Park in Hollidaysburg from 11AM to dusk to celebrate the extraordinary life of Angie Gioiosa. Angie made a huge impact in our running community. He paved the way for many runners in the area. He shared his love and knowledge of running with those around him. Please bring your best "Angie-isms" and spend the day sharing wonderful memories of a unique individual - Angie Gioiosa.The cost to attend will be $5/adult or $10/family - MUST BE 18 & OVER. All the proceeds will go towards the Angie Gioiosa Scholarship Fund. Please bring your own drinks & covered dish.|
