We are pleased to announce the launch of our Community Wellness Challenge Series which is a sequence of family oriented events featuring running, walking, and youth activities intended to motivate our community to stay or become more active. In memory of Ken Brumbaugh, the Run is a celebration of his life, his spirit, and the community he loved. Hailed as the "first race of the season," runners love the course, spectators love the scenery, and everyone embraces the heart and soul of the event.

The Altoona Curve has teamed up with the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA for the second annual YMCA Altoona Curve Home run! The Curve ball club, launched in Altoona in 1999 as the AA afiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, has become an institution in Blair County. The strength of the Curve has grown over the last ten years and partnering with the YMCA makes for a great racing event! The race will take place on Saturday, May 3rd (5:05 pm start) between innings of the game against the Erie Seawolves. This is the second leg of the Community Wellness Challenge Series that features eight races this year- including a late summer triathlon at Canoe Creek State Park. This year's race will start in left field at the Blair County Ballpark and wind through Lakemont park. All entries to this race include a bleacher ticket to the game- as an added bonus, this is a fireworks night at Blair County Ballpark- you won't want to miss this one! |

You can register at the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA (and be sure to ask us about the 8 races in '08 discount package!): Cost: Race Day (May 3): $25/person Pre-Registration: Individual: $16 (before April 18), $21 (April 19-May 2) Family: $15/person (before April 18), $20/person (April 19-May 2) ONLINE REGISTRATION IS CLOSED- to register, see the front desk of the YMCA, or on Saturday May 3 (day-of registration rates will apply), see our registration table at the Blair County Ball Park. Additional tickets will also be available for sale at the table at the Curve while supplies last!
