Swim for Fitness |
|
| This program is for your own personal goals. We also have charts for water walkers. You keep your own record on the distance that you swim. Water walking and jogging is the new wave in water fitness. Exercising in water is an excellent form of exercise. 30 minutes of water walking is equivalent to 2 hours on land. It increases the aerobic and endurance effects of running due to the water resistance without the effects of joint stress and road running hazards. Are you breaking last year’s mark? Should you be setting a goal for next year? This is a program made just for you to set your own personal goals. It takes 18 lengths for 1/4 mile, 36 lengths for 1/2 mile and 72 lengths for 1 mile. Congratulations to those who have improved their previous marks and good luck to all swimmers and walkers. Keep blowing those bubbles. |
Now in it’s 30th year, the Hollidaysburg Area YMCA has introduced thousands of youngsters to
